2016 10 01 and 02 SYDENHAM -- Completion weekend!

As discussed on our last Owen Sound weekend, we are shifting the schedule to allow us to complete Sydenham club.  To do this, we are doing the following hikes:

Saturday October 1st: Colpoy's Range Rd to Wiarton (~16.4 km)

We will meet at our end-point in Wiarton (Map 35 168.4 marker, Parking area P001, lat: 44.742513896594375  long: -81.13514013765938  Google Map Here) at 9AM.  

We will then shuttle back to Colpoy's Range Rd (Map 34, 152.0 marker, parking area S046, lat: 44.78878871010579 long: -80.99662842434971 Google Map Here)

Yes--this was the ugly 'Not Maintained' road!  We'll remember to come into this from the West end

Sunday October 2nd: Blantyre to Walter's Falls (~11.5km)

We will meet at Walter's falls (Map 29, 11.5 marker parking S003, Lat: 44.48884385480729, Long: -80.71092737124152, Google Map Here) at  9AM

From there, we will shuttle back to the start-point at Blantyre (Map 28, division point of Sydenham and Beaver Valley clubs, parking BV026, Lat: 44.499854845562316, Long: -80.63277316757517, Google Map Here)

I have investigated accommodations at Walter's Falls--they are fully booked due to weddings.

There are a couple of cottage rental options that look more economical than the one I had previously identified. Gerda found one that is $900 for the weekend and accommodates 8 people. Barb is also investigating some options.

Otherwise, there are several B&Bs and the Best Western still has rooms, and we can meet for dinner.

I am in for the cottage rental if others are as well.

I would like to propose that, because of the longer driving distances and the shorter hiking distances this weekend, we change the starting time from 8:00 am to 9:00 am for both days.
This will allow more time for breakfast and travel, and still have us finished our hikes at a reasonable time in the afternoon.
